Alister Milne brings 25 years of expertise across the marine & offshore energy sectors. Holding with a master’s degree in electrical & Electronic Engineering, he has spent most of his career as a consultant engineer in the marine consultancy sector, focussing on Dynamic Positioning systems. He has worked in this sector across the globe in a vast range of projects, from state-of-the-art newbuild vessels and MODUs to vessel life extension projects. He is an IMCA Accredited DP Trials & Assurance Practitioner and has been involved in all aspects related to the sector, from the DP FMEA and Trials aspects, to incident investigations and power system analyses as well as extensive involvement with W2W systems.
Craig Styles has over 15 years experience as a master’s degree qualified Electronic and Electrical Engineer with over 15 years’ experience in the Marine industry on projects, primarily related to Dynamically Positioned vessels, where he specialises in the FMEA and associated trials process, having held IMCA DP Trials & Assurance Practitioner accreditation since 2019. He has witnessed well over 100 DP trials on vessels worldwide and been involved in several incident investigations. Craig regularly represents the company at industry events and sits on the IMCA DP committee, where he provides his expertise to the industry through various sub-committees.
Dan Tough has over 6 years in the marine consultancy industry as a DP Practitioner, having previously worked as an ROV Technician for 4 years with a global organisation, providing him with a high level of expertise in a range of survey/inspection, installation and maintenance projects in the global energy subsea/marine sector. He is a degree qualified Electrical & Electronic Engineer and also holds an HND in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering and is an IMCA Accredited DP Trials & Assurance Practitioner. His current role has extensive involvement developing FMEAs and associated trials programmes for a wide range of DP vessels, as well as providing third party technical support to clients. His experience with ROVs has provided him with the necessary competence at completing IMCA R-006 audits.
David Allan has over 8 years of experience in the marine industry, having previously served with the Police for 8 years prior to a cadetship with Maersk Supply Services. David holds a Degree in Marine Operations, an HNC in Engineering Systems and an OOW Deck STCW II/1 Certificate of Competency. He is also a member of the Honourable Company of Master Mariners. He is a Certified ISM Lead Auditor and has provided services to Clients as a marine surveyor, offshore marine representative and onshore marine representative. David specialises in Condition Surveys, ISM Internal Auditing, MODU surveys and Walk-to-Work assurance services. He assists the Marine & HSSEQ Manager in the management of the Marine group.
Fergus Napier brings over 25 years of expertise in marine operations and total quality, occupation health & safety and environmental management in the marine and offshore industry, backed by a MEng in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering. He is a Chartered Engineer accredited by EC UK, is a Member of RINA and is a certified QMS Lead Auditor, certified Lifting Equipment & Lifting Operations Examiner and is IOSH Managing Safely and Kongsberg DP Surveyor qualified. Fergus comes from a diverse marine background having worked as sea, for Class (engineering and survey), for a marine design consultancy as a Naval Architect, for an arctic engineering consultancy, for marine contractors/ vessel operators, as a marine technical authority for a floating production facility, as a Project Naval Architect in a shipyard and as an engineering and marine consultant. He acts as the Subject Matter Expert for all Marine Assurance activities. Fergus is also responsible for maintaining the BVS Business Management System (BMS) and its ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management standards certification.
Gary Pottinger has over 14 years of experience in the marine consultancy industry, as a degree qualified Electrical & Electronic Engineer. He has further continued his development by gaining Chartership with the IET and being an IMCA Accredited DP Trials & Assurance Practitioner. His consultancy experience, underpinned by broad knowledge of operation and malfunction of electrical systems is specialised in the Failure Modes and Effects Analysis of Dynamic Positioning systems as well as mission critical equipment, such as cranes, pipelay & W2W systems.
Stephen Gallagher is a degree qualified Electronic & Electrical Engineer, with over 11 years in the marine industry, primarily focussing on Dynamic Positioning vessels, where he specialises in the FMEA and associated trials process, having held IMCA DP Trials & Assurance Practitioner accreditation since 2019. Stephen regularly extends his expertise to Mission Critical (W2W, Pipelay, Cablelay, Motion Compensated Pile Gripper) systems, in particular with novel designs. His role as Technical Lead of the department involves maintaining a technical standard across all deliverables and providing training to colleagues and providing Technical Authority services. His experience in working across a wide variety of projects in the sector enables him to assist clients on all manner of requirements, throughout the various challenges faced.
